Due to the cancellation of generations by the President, Hon. J. Shiwon Kamara at the end of his tenure, the Union is without a leadership. In the interest of continuity of the Union’s business, the national Board of Directors will exercise the affairs of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas until the Board appoints an interim leadership.
The Board’s authority to appoint an interim leadership relies on the Union’s Constitutional provision Chapter XXIII, Article 7 which empowers the Board to appoint an interim Leadership that will organize an election within 90 days if an elections nullification affects the ticket of (president & vice), and the sitting president of the Union and member(s) of the Board are candidates.
This announcement seals the temporary transfer of Leadership of ULAA from the Kamara/Grant administration to the National Board of Directors. The public is advised to direct all matters and transactions of ULAA to the National Board of Directors.
