FACTS‬ ABOUT THE OGUN WEST BORN LEGISLATOR CALLED AKINLADE. (Part1)

Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade is by every means a child of destiny and harbinger of joy considering the circumstances of his birth. Born on March 21st, 1967 (Ileya Day) after pregnancy reported to have lasted for over a year, Abiodun is the only surviving child of his mother who had 7 other children; all female.

He began his elementary education at St Paul Anglican Primary School Owode Yewa, from where he proceeded to Area Community High School Owode, and later to Community High School Alapoti for his secondary education. He was admitted to study accountancy at the Federal polytechnic Ibadan and passed out in 1991 with a Higher National Diploma Certificate. While at Ibadan Poly, he was involved in student union politics and served as the treasurer of the student union government. In year 2000 he gained admission into the University of Ado-Ekiti and passed out in 2002 with a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA). In December 2012, he was awarded an honorary doctorate degree in Management by "Universitee de Sciencies Management, Port Novo, Republic du Benin.

Abiodun working life started in 1993, when he was employed as an account officer by Automania Nigeria Limited, the firm that pioneered Auto-Fair in Nigeria. Within 7 years, Abiodun rose to become the general manager of the company before resigning in 2002 to pursue his interest in politics on a full time basis. Popularly known as AKINLADE in the political circle, Abiodun was elected in 2003 to represent Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency in the House of Representative on the platform of PDP, becoming one of the youngest membes in the history of Ogun State. He was re-elected in 2007, and again in 2011 to become one of the longest serving member of the House in the South West.

Hon. Akinlade has served in several committees of the house, he is currently the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology, a position he has occupied for close to 8 years.

Hon. Akinlade Abiodun has sponsored several bills in the house. He has been able to facilitate several projects from the federal government to his constituency and other parts of Ogun State including:
* Fully Equipped ICT Center at Ajilete, Oke Odan, Army Barracks Owode, Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Army Baracks Alamala, Sports Club Abeokuta, Tai Solarin University of Education Ijebu Ode, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta, College Of Agric, Olabisi Onabanjo University Ayetoro Campus.

☆He facilitated the First Science Park in Nigeria, located in Owode Yewa, where about 7 Agencies of the Federal Government are currently operating.

☆He facilitated a Multi-Purpose Civic Center at the Federal Poly Ilaro. NITDA WEST Computer Training Centre.

Beyond all of these, Akinlade is popularly known for his employment facilitation drive and capacity building initiatives.
☆He has facilitated employment for over 540 Graduates in several Agencies of the Federal Government.

He is the promoter of 'Akinlade Free Computer Training Programme' which graduates 300 students quarterly. He is a member of several social clubs and holder of several traditional titles.

Today, he is the most ranking member of the PDP in House of Representatives from South West Nigeria. And he has decided to heed the call of his people to become the governor of Ogun State on the Platform of the "People's Democratic Party (PDP)", with a manifesto titled "NEW PACT" which puts the "People First" in a clear manifestation of his avowed commitment to see to the welfare and development of the People in all ramifications.
Most Assuredly, A new Ogun state is in the offing!
