The event of yesterday 8th December, 2014 will go down in the history of our dear State as a watershed because our delegates’ conduct was a sincere demonstration of focus, determination and recognition of merit, fair play and justice. I am indeed very grateful for returning me as the flagbearer of our great Party towards the February 2015 general election in Ogun State.
Without foundation, no house can stand and the foundation of yesterday’s success is the steadfastness, focus and encouragement of internal democracy by the leadership of our party; I am indeed very proud of our great leaders. For their loyalty and passionate show of love and affection, I salute our numerous party faithful all over the state and I assure them that the confidence reposed in me won’t be in a misplaced one.
I sincerely appreciate all my fellow contestants and I want to assure them that it is a collective aspiration, we are all partakers in the project “AMG”, and we shall do it together. This victory is for all, it is no winner, no vanquished, PDP is the winner. As an aspirant from Ogun West, I am even more humbled as the show of deep patriotism by the other two Ogun west aspirants which is unprecedented in the annals of Yewa/Awori land; they are indeed the heroes of this victory. I also assure our party members that my emergence as the candidate of our great party has presented the best chance for the party to defeat the incumbent in February 2015. I have come with a fresh breath of hope and relevant change in our state to Make Life More Abundant for all and sundry.
My main agenda is to align our systems and processes to that of a modern state where things work for the benefit of all. I will conduct governance with vision, passion, equity and integrity. I believe my path in life has prepared me for this moment. I have what it takes to make life more meaningful for our people. As we move to the next level, I seek everybody’s support, trust and votes on February 28th, 2015. Let us not be despaired by the disappointments, dashed hopes, failed promises and pains of the present regime in Ogun State.
I will be a listener, I will not inflict pain on our citizens, our policies will have human face, I will consult with all layers of the party always, I will run an efficient and open-door administration and I will utilize the resources of our state judiciously. My word will always be my bond and I want to be held by it. Above all, I will serve my conscience knowing every man is accountable to God. I BELIEVE together we can make Ogun a model state of our dreams. Together we can do it because I am a symbol of the new model of leadership predicated on capacity, competence, character and vision.
I appreciate everybody.
Long live the PDP!!
Long live Ogun State!!!
