All it takes for evil to prosper is for good men and women to stand and do nothing-
OgunState primary Election has come and gone. PDP did it in grand style by electing Mr. Gboyega Isiaka in an atmosphere that was free of rancor. I was really surprised to see the zonal mobilization director of PDP supporting a presumed OGD' son.By this singular act, PDP has shown that they are not paying lip service to internal democracy. They are practicing it and it is a lesson to other political parties in Ogun state. President Jonathanhas done something no head of Government in Nigeria has done. He is genuinely watering the tree of democracy by making sureevery vote counts. He has refused to interfere with elections results and this will go along way to determine his legacy and his return .
President Jonathan' mien , conduct and unspoken words will campaign for him in 2015 . On Sept 10 2010 , His Excellency said'I set the stage for free and fair elections by constituting an electoral commission comprising of Nigerians with impeccable credentials for firmness and incorruptibility. True to talk and this is the greatest legacy any Government in Nigeria has bestowed on her. President Jonathan' altruism via this legacy has changed the landscape. It is not however without incalculable loss to him and this is where true leaders stand. They care more about their legacy above and beyond immediate gains. What has attracted President Jonathan to me is a function of the number of elections he has lost as a sitting president. It is a credential that he should be proud of. Tabatha said'We have to stand up for what we believe in, even when we might not be popular for it. Honesty starts with being ourselves, authentic and true to who we are and what we believe in, and that may not always be popular, but it will always let you follow your dreams and your heart.
Having read and studied Jonathan in great details, i could not engage nor marry him with events as they unfold in Ogun State. I have been telling everyone that cares to listen that the issue has not come to his table. Jonathan is a democrat to the marrows and i will never believe anything to the contrary until it happens. He had option to remove Omisore, but refused. I see courts actions reinstating James Ngilari in Adamawa. These are happening on his watch because he chose not to interfere. Therefore, i find it strange for anyone to link him with any undemocratic moves in Ogun state, I want to believethat opposition parties are trying to smear him or using a fifth columnist within PDP fold.
In the light of the GNI' election , i want to commend PDP for a job well done in Ogun state and we should set all machinery in motion to reclaim the state.PDP has gone through great geometrical changes under Adamu Mu'azu . Why will anyone unwind the hands of this clock of change?
On Buruji,I do not know how Buruji did it. He single handedlybuilt the party while everyone was on Sabbatical but never hesitated to open the doors to themon their arrival to build the walls of its Jerusalem. One thing that distinguished him was his ability to even bring to its fold Sambalath and Tobias. Good job, Mr Kasamu.
On a final note, it is needless to say that Southwest is very critical to PDP and there is no room for gambling. People are watching with keen interest . Let us do the right thing by raising up the hand of our candidate because different factions of the party dropped their personal ambitions in the interest of the global goalto elect GNI at the primary and it will amount to political harakirion the part of any PDP' stakeholders to throw clog in the spokes of this wheel . I know Muazu will not do it, Jonathan will NEVER do it . Anyone that hates Jonathan' re-election WILL do it.
