The attacks are still going on.
A community health worker who spoke anonymously to PREMIUM TIMES reporter on telephone said the gunmen first attacked Mailari village, about 10km away from Konduga where they burnt houses, shops and sacked villagers.
The source said the gunmen advanced towards Konduga town where they are being engaged by soldiers led by members of the youth vigilante known as Civilian-JTF.
A resident of Konduga, Lawan Modu, also told PREMIUM TIMES on telephone that, “They are now behind the Konduga mini stadium but the soldiers are now pursuing them together with the Civilian-JTF”.
The attack began hours after the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Garbai Elkanemi, visited Konduga to commiserate with the people of the town over Tuesday’s attack.
